What is attorney-client privilege and can Rudy Giuliani claim it?

The political environment has led to attacks on the attorney-client privilege. As an attorney of 46 years, this is extremely frightening. Every person has a right to counsel of their choice. As an attorney, if you represent someone unpopular, or that the media does not like, then the attorney will be persecuted and likely prosecuted for doing his or her SWORN duty. They also are likely to go after business, your family, etc. etc.

Legal Representation Today

A Bit of history. John Adams represented the slaves on the Amistad. John Adams represented the British soldiers in the Boston Massacre trial. Could you imagine if he were to run for President today? The NY bar has already gone after Giuliani., unsuccessfully. Lin Wood represented Richard Jewel. He exonerated an innocent man. He was ordered to undergo a psychiatric exam by the State Bar of Georgia. They also tried to charge him with voting twice. I fear that whoever represents the Marine Veteran in the Subway chokehold case Daniel Penny may pay the price. I hope that Giuliani is allowed to assert whatever defenses or privileges he is entitled to.

Navigating Legal Perils

What is next? Alan Dershowitz is being sent for a mental exam. He has already been shunned and accused of being involved in Epstein’s activities, which was false. Think long and hard about what can happen to you. It is not too far-fetched to what could happen to you. Anywhere from being accused of serious traffic offenses because some stole your ID, to being falsely accused of child molestation in the middle of a nasty custody dispute. With a little humor, I saw the evil twin defense succeed God bless the honest cop who had encountered the situation before and who happened to be in court and spoke up. In both traffic cases the “Defendant” had to post bond and spent a few days in jail, and they had to hire one of those terrible lawyers.

Also remember Stalin put people into the Gulags because they were “crazy” along with the East German secret pool ice, the Stazzi.
